The Quail Island swim is offered as part of our RealSwim Adventures Custom swim. There are a number of options from a 2km one way, a 4 km two way or a fantastic 8km Island circumnavigation for the experienced open water swimmer.
We are currently using this location to help swimmers prepare for the Epic NZ Open Water Swim Championships in Taupo Jan 2014.

You can have your own Quail Island RealSwim Adventure swim or you can join us Saturday 8 March for a fully supported sportive 8km circumnavigation of Quail Island. Cost for this trip is $60. Real Swim Adventures Supports Kakapo Recovery

New Zealand has a beautiful native environment and some unique flora and fauna. Being a proud kiwi, owner Dan Abel supports the Kakapo Recovery program.

The kakapo can only be found in New Zealand and every year countless people from around the world – including dozens of hard working volunteers – give their time and energy trying to save the kakapo from the brink of extinction.The ancient, flightless Kakapo is the world’s rarest and strangest parrot. It is the only flightless and nocturnal parrot, as well as being the heaviest in the world, weighing up to 3.5 kilograms (8 lbs).
